#3 - Hydraloop H600 Premium, a CES Innovation Award water recycling system

Hydraloop is an innovative product that recycles and cleans about 85 percent of the water you use in your home. The accompanying app keeps you updated with various stats. Currently, it’s a little on the expensive side, but at least they’re on the right path to help us conserve water. It’s not a fancy gadget, but it is something that we need to conserve natural resources.

The system is also designed to be as convenient to the user as possible. Although bulky compared to many home appliances, the slim design of the Hydraloop reduces its space profile, and just one look at its sleek, clear lines suggests that a lot of thought has clearly been given to its overall look. More importantly, however, the Hydraloop is almost completely self-sufficient, requiring only minimal maintenance and no chemicals, filters or other expendable elements. It also comes packaged with an app that allows users to monitor its condition and the amount of water recycled.

#2 - Never worry about hidden leaks again: Phyn Smart Water Assistant

The self-installed water monitor that goes under a single sink immediately notifies you if a leak is detected anywhere in your home, and provides detailed insights into how each fixture in your home uses water.

From drip leaks to catastrophic bursts and everything in between, Phyn gives you the tools to ensure that your home is watertight. And at the first sign of an issue, Phyn sends SMS or push notifications and can connect you to a local plumber in minutes.

Track and view your water use daily and monthly to get ahead of your water costs, and see how your home compares to others. Over time, Phyn learns your system and communicates your water usage down to each fixture.

Phyn’s patented pressure sensing technology sees the ice crystals forming in your pipes well before your pipes ever have a chance to freeze over and burst, giving you time to time to take action and avoid damage.

Phyn measures microscopic water pressure changes in high definition — 240 times every second — to recognize the unique voice of each fixture in your home. So when you run a faucet, Phyn knows it’s a faucet. And if that faucet leaks, Phyn lets you know.

#1 - Let your mind take control: NextMind Dev Kit

NextMind's "brain-sensing" wearable aims to let users control devices with their thoughts.

Worn on the back of the head, the wearable generates data from the electrical signals that result from a user's neuron activity in the brain's visual cortex.

NextMind uses machine learning to translate the data into action; one potential example cited by NextMind at CES Unveiled was that a user could think of a channel they wanted to watch on TV, and the channel would be changed automatically.

Many new things will be possible to achieve such as controlling the dashboard in a car or integrating the technology into a game or VR headset, removing the need for controllers.

NextMind’s developer kit is a product aimed at developers. It has everything developers need to get building software that works with NextMind’s hardware and APIs. It includes the NextMind sensor, which works with a range of headgear, including simple straps, Oculus VR headsets and even baseball hats, along with the software and SDK required to make it work on your PC.
